About Our Preschool

Our preschool programs provide emotional, physical and educational growth and development of our young students in a friendly, nurturing and safe learning environment. Our carefully planned programs focus on:

•  Encouragement and support of your child’s ability to question, think and problem solve

•  Socialization, communication and self esteem

•  The introduction and practice of early reading skills including phonics and sight reading using a multisensory approach and incorporating Developmentally Appropriate Practices (DAPs) recommended by New York State

•  The use of the “Handwriting Without Tears” program to simplify and maximize your child’s early handwriting skills

•  Exploration and creation through hands-on activities and educational field trips

The activities presented throughout the curricula focus on particular themes, introduction of various concepts and include many subject areas: reading, social studies, math, science and physical education.

Participation in the various activities allows children to understand and retain the newly discovered information.

Adventures In Reading

Do you want your child to love reading? At CFA, we know how to do just that through the use of games, poems, nursery rhymes, crafts, singing, hands-on-activities and imaginative play. Each week your child will have the opportunity to learn about a different children's author. At the end of the 6 week session, your child will have created their very own book based on what they learned!

Enrichment Program For 3’s

During this 2 1/2 hour program, your child will further enhance their education through review and practice of their letters, numbers and colors and work on their phonics skills in our very special Enrichment room.

Your child does not have be enrolled in our preschool to reap the benefits of this special enrichment class.

Friendly reminder: There are NO makeup classes or refunds for days not attended.

Kindergarten Enrichment

Is your child really going to be ready for Kindergarten? During this 3 hour program, your child will practice their handwriting, review their letters, numbers and colors, work on their sight reading program and phonics skills all in an effort to be ready for Kindergarten.

Your child does not have be enrolled in our preschool to reap the benefits of this special enrichment class.

Enrollment Information

Call: 631-360-2880 To Enroll	Our preschool follows the Smithtown, NY School District calendar.
	To qualify for enrollment, your child must be the required age for their program by December 1st of the school year.
	A copy of your child’s birth certificate must be submitted at the time of registration.
	CFA is a peanut-free zone! No snacks containing peanuts, peanut oil or peanut butter will be served without prior approval. We ask that parents adhere to this policy when bringing in treats for special occasions such as birthdays.
	Upon registration, we require that families complete our Family Contact & Emergency Form, especially noting any allergies.
	Toilet training is not required though we strongly encourage that your child be introduced to the idea. We also want you to know that our staff will work with you and your child to support the progress being made.
	CFA offers 2 payment plans for your convenience: monthly coupon payment book or automatic credit card deduction.
